چکیده
A method for imaging objects in highly scattering turbid media. According to one embodiment of the invention, the method involves using a plurality of intersecting source1 detectors sets and time-resolving equipment to generate a plurality of time-resolved intensity curves for the diffusive component of light emergent from the medium. For each of the curves, the intensities at a plurality of times are then inputted into the following inverse reconstruction algorithm to form an image of the medium:

متن کاملInvestigation of two-layered turbid media with time-resolved reflectance.
Light propagation in two-layered turbid media that have an infinitely thick second layer is investigated with time-resolved reflectance. We used a solution of the diffusion equation for this geometry to show that it is possible to derive the absorption and the reduced scattering coefficients of both layers if the relative reflectance is measured in the time domain at two distances and if the th...
متن کاملInterferometric Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (iNIRS) for determination of optical and dynamical properties of turbid media.
We introduce and implement interferometric near-infrared spectroscopy (iNIRS), which simultaneously extracts optical and dynamical properties of turbid media through analysis of a spectral interference fringe pattern. The spectral interference fringe pattern is measured using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a frequency-swept narrow linewidth laser. Fourier analysis of the detected signal is ...
متن کاملAll Photons Imaging Through Thick Layered Scattering Materials
We demonstrate a method to image through thick layered scattering materials. The method uses time-resolved measurement and leverages all of the optical signal to computationally invert the scattering. متن کاملAnalytical solutions for time-resolved fluorescence lifetime imaging in a turbid medium such as tissue.
An analytical solution is developed to quantify a site-specific fluorophore lifetime perturbation that occurs, for example, when the local metabolic status is different from that of surrounding tissue. This solution may be used when fluorophores are distributed throughout a highly turbid media and the site of interest is embedded many mean scattering distances from the source and the detector. ...
